[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]We are a progressive United Methodist congregation which has had a presence on Miami Beach since 1924. We are proud to claim since 1997 the “Reconciling Congregation” designation, being the first United Methodist church in Florida to make this public statement on openly welcoming LGBTQ folks. While participation ebbs and flows, about 100 persons regularly claim St. John’s as their church home, journeying with one another through the ups and downs of faith and life. Much of this happens through our Sunday morning worship experiences, where typically, 30-50 persons may attend in any given week. Similar weekly activities include Bible Study and book discussion groups. Our young adult ministry partner No Reservations, gathers weekly on Thursday nights at various bars and restaurants around Miami for a time of bible study and conversation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”24934″ img_size=”480×470″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”52px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”24930″ img_size=”480×470″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”42px”][vc_column_text]Our congregation also partners with our Montessori Academy at St. John’s , providing the high quality “Montessori” school experience from early childhood (about 16 months), Pre-K and Kindergarten, through First, Second, and Third Grades. Our church building is busy to overflowing all week long with our Montessori Academy.

Striving to be good stewards of the wonderful building and facility that is our legacy from previous generations, we share our worship space with an United Methodist Hispanic Mission congregation on Sunday evenings. Weddings, family dinners, neighborhood gatherings, political debates, and other community events crowd our church’s calendar so that our buildings continue to be well-used.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”25032″ img_size=”480×450″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
