Have you ever messed up?
We all have and we all will continue to mess up. It’s a part of life. And yet, our scripture this week (Romans 3:9-24) reminds us that although we fall, we are met by grace. No matter who we are and no matter what we may have done, God’s grace meets us when we fall.
This week we begin a new sermon series called Falling Forward where we’ll be journeying through the books of the New Testament written to people who often fell. Paul wrote to many of these communities encouraging them and guiding them as they dealt with divisions and hardships of many types.
This week we’ll specifically be focusing on grace and remembering how God’s grace is big enough to catch us when we fall. Not only does this grace catch us, it carries us forward into being made more like Christ and more how God longs for us to be.
Wherever you are, know that it is okay if you have messed up. God’s grace is there to catch you, hold you, and carry you through whatever it is. Might each of us take the time this week to acknowledge where we may have fallen, and pray for God’s grace to meet us in this space and make us whole.
Might we each fall into the arms of grace and together be carried forward into the making of God’s kingdom on earth.
Join us this Sunday at 11am in person or online at St. John’s on the Lake UMC! We’ll celebrate God’s endless grace and welcome our youth and children to lead us through our service! Let us worship our God together.
Peace and love,
Pastor Kipp
